Aspen & Maroon Bells Elopement Videographer

Adventure elopement film still in the Colorado mountains

The Most Photographed Mountains in North America

Aspen & Maroon Bells

Photographs of the Bells are everywhere. Films that do them justice are rare.

Twin 14,000-foot peaks reflected in Maroon Lake — a valley that deserves more than a tripod at the water's edge.

I'm Rees Gibbons, a Colorado-born wedding videographer bringing mountain couples the same cinematic approach I use across the San Juans.

From mid-June through early October, Maroon Creek Road closes to private cars during the day — access is by shuttle or pre-dawn arrival, and ceremony permits specify exact sites and group sizes. This is exactly the kind of logistics I handle.

The logistics nobody warns you about

Sunrise, without question. The Bells face east, the lake is glass at dawn, and the crowds arrive with the shuttles. That footage is worth every alarm clock.

Questions, answered

How much does a Maroon Bells elopement videographer cost?
From $4,000 for six hours of coverage, including permit research and location planning.
Do we need a permit to elope at Maroon Bells?
Yes — the Forest Service requires a special-use permit with designated ceremony sites and group limits, and summer road closures mean shuttle or early-morning access. I plan all of it.
When is the best season?
Late June with snow still on the peaks, or the last week of September when the aspen groves turn.
Do you film in Aspen proper too?
Yes — the Wedding Deck, T-Lazy-7, and the Roaring Fork Valley. See the Colorado hub for everywhere else.
