Colorado Elopement Videographer
Ten years of filming elopements in the mountains I grew up in — real vows, real light, nothing posed.
If you're eloping in Colorado, you're choosing landscape over logistics. Your film should feel that way.
Real audio of your vows in the wind. Light that actually happened. None of the stiff, posed filler. I'm Rees Gibbons — born and raised in Colorado, based in Durango, filming statewide.
Permits are the unglamorous truth of Colorado elopements: national parks require ceremony permits, Forest Service districts have their own rules, popular spots cap group sizes. Every package includes location selection, permit research, and vendor recommendations.

Where I film across Colorado
Every region has its own guide — venues, permits, light, and real films from each place.
What an adventure elopement film looks like
First looks at sunrise. A hike to a lake. Vows nobody else hears until they watch the film. Dinner back in town — and every word of it recorded clean.

Questions, answered
How much does a Colorado elopement videographer cost?
Quality elopement films in Colorado typically run $3,500–$8,000. My packages start at $4,000 for six hours, including location scouting, permit help, and high-res delivery. See full pricing.
What are the best places to elope in Colorado?
For dramatic peaks with reasonable access: Telluride, Ouray, and the San Juans. For iconic scenery: Maroon Bells and Rocky Mountain National Park. For privacy: the high passes between Durango and Silverton.
Do we need a permit to elope in Colorado?
Usually. National parks require special-use permits, and many Forest Service and open-space locations do too. I research this for every booking.
Can we bring guests to an adventure elopement?
Yes — most of my elopements include up to 6 guests, and some locations accommodate more. Some permits cap attendance.
Videographer, photographer, or both?
Both, ideally — photos freeze the day; film gives you your vows in your own voices. I work alongside photographers constantly and can recommend ones who fit your style.
